Ethics and Safety

My assignment was to head outdoors and take a photograph that demonstrates safety and ethics in nature.  At first I was not sure what to photograph that would show an understanding of the topic.  As I wandered the trails of the Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City I came across this deer.  She was a distance away from me but I was able to zoom in on her and get a pretty good photo.  She was looking over her shoulder and almost looked like she was saying, "I know you are there, but I'm not afraid of you."

I chose this photo because it showed that I was not disturbing the wildlife as I shared their habitats with them.  It was a beautiful hot day in the Ozarks when I took the photo.  My son and I had decided to take a road trip and take some photographs.  We had a wonderful time wandering the trails with our cameras and took several decent photos.

I consider myself an amateur photographer at best but sometimes I get lucky and get a good shot. I  really enjoy photographing nature.  Dragonflies are one of my favorite insects.  There are so many different varieties and colors.  I also love the way they move!  This photograph was also taken at the Runge Nature Center, and I thought it was also a good example of ethics and safety in nature.  I love my zoom lens!

Well, enough of my ramblings and samplings.  Look for my next blog soon.  My next assignment is a photography scavenger hunt.  I'm excited!

The best part is spending time in nature with those you love, isn't it!

  3. Your pictures are quite interesting. Very cool. I have tried to photograph dragonflies and know how difficult it is.
